Remembering Frank, Record re-releases & more

Hello,

This is Frank’s son, Frank Jr Jr. It’s been one year since we lost my father, which is still difficult for us all. What has brought us joy and connection in this time is sharing his music alongside our family and friends. It’s an absolute gift that he left behind so much beautiful art for all of us and putting together this new website for him is the first step in sharing it.

Last month Sony re-released The Walker Brothers record Nite Flights, which Frank was a big part of. Although it is sold out in many locations, you can check the album’s Record Store Day site for local stockists or Discogs.com for purchasing options.

In 2024 Wallen Bink Records re-released a record that was his pride and joy, Dr. Tree. The re-release features an additional vinyl with previously unheard takes and new tracks, all remastered at Abbey Road, a place Frank loved. It’s available online direct from the label, but also in a variety of record stores in New Zealand including Marbecks and Real Groovy. You can also listen to the re-master on Spotify, but it definitely sounds best on vinyl.

We’ve been slowly compiling a variety of Frank’s material that is available online. Earlier this year been I put together a short Spotify playlist of some of my favorite songs he performed on for what would have been his 80th birthday. Last year Audioculture also put one together. We really appreciate the work of everyone over there, as they have put together a fantastic biography for him.

We’re also trying to compile videos featuring Frank on Youtube. I put together a small selection in a playlist, but if you have any others, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me here.

I’ve also found a backup of Frank’s old site from the mid-2000s if anyone wants a little trip down memory lane. There are a bunch of MP3s available there too.

We’ll be continuing to update this site with more photos and music soon. Thank you for helping us remember Frank.
